02Prices and the delivery markup
By default DoorDash shows your in-store prices. If you want delivery orders priced higher to cover DoorDash’s commission, set a “Delivery price markup” in Admin → Integrations → DoorDash → Settings. It is a percentage on top of your in-store price, applied to items and options alike.
- Pickup orders on DoorDash always use your in-store price.
- Delivery orders use the in-store price plus the markup.
- Set it to 0 for the same price everywhere.
03Hours and holidays
DoorDash’s store hours are your menu’s hours. A menu on the location’s hours sends what you keep in Admin → Restaurant & Hours; a menu with its own schedule sends that schedule.
- Holidays and special days from Restaurant & Hours go to DoorDash as special hours: closed for the day, or the shorter window you set.
- DoorDash stops taking orders 20 minutes before your closing time so Dashers can still pick up.
- Overnight hours (for example 5 PM to 2 AM) are sent as one window; DoorDash understands they run into the next day.
04Photos
Add photos to an item in Admin → Menu → the item → Photos. The first photo is the one DoorDash gets. A photo must be a JPG or PNG under 2 MB; DoorDash prefers a 16:9 picture (for example 1400 × 800) and crops the middle of anything else.
DoorDash reviews new photos before showing them, which can take a few business days. Changing a photo sends the new one the next time the menu goes across.
0586 an item, and bring it back
On the till, the item’s availability switch (or “86” on the item) takes it off every channel at once: the till, your online ordering and DoorDash. Choose “for 2 hours” or “rest of today” and it comes back on its own; “until I turn it back on” waits for you.
- DoorDash hears the 86 through its live availability API, not through a menu update, so it takes seconds.
- A modifier option marked “Unavailable (86)” in Admin → Menu → Modifiers is taken off DoorDash the same way.
- A DoorDash order that still names an 86’d item is refused automatically with the reason “Item Unavailable … Out of stock”, and the guest is told by DoorDash.
06Alcohol
Items marked “Alcohol” in the item editor are sent to DoorDash as alcohol. DoorDash shows them only at stores DoorDash has enabled for alcohol and handles the ID check at the door; ask your DoorDash representative to enable it for your store.
07Seeing whether DoorDash took the menu
Admin → Integrations → DoorDash shows one card per location. “Live · Menu is on DoorDash” means the last menu was accepted. Press Details to see each menu’s last job: accepted, waiting, or refused with DoorDash’s own words — for example a name that was empty or hours that overlapped.
- “Send the menu now” pushes the menu again at once.
- DoorDash processes one menu job per store at a time; if one is still running, the next change waits a few minutes and goes by itself.
- DoorDash also pulls the menu from us once a day when nothing has been sent, so the two never drift for long.
