01Before you start
- Admin → Menu: at least one menu with the DoorDash chip on under Channels (the wizard’s first step does this for you).
- Your DoorDash login: the account that owns the business on DoorDash — a Business Admin or Store Manager. A staff login cannot connect stores.
- If your restaurant already sells on DoorDash, have its DoorDash store link handy (the address bar on your store’s DoorDash page).
02The four steps
Admin → Integrations → DoorDash → Set up DoorDash. The wizard resumes where you left off.
| Step | What you do | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · Menu | Switch on the menus DoorDash should show. Already on DoorDash? Paste your store link under “Bring that menu in” and switch the imported menu on. | Every later change to those menus reaches DoorDash by itself. |
| 2 · Settings | Prep time, delivery price markup, pickup instructions, whether orders wait for a staff tap. | Saved for this location; used on every order. |
| 3 · Connect | Press “Connect with DoorDash”, sign in at DoorDash, come back, pick your store, press “Connect this store”. | DoorDash pulls your menu and checks it. When it says “DoorDash has your menu”, press “Activate on DoorDash”. |
| 4 · Go live | Nothing — the page shows your menu accepted and “You are live”. | DoorDash orders arrive on your tills, confirmed. |
New to DoorDash? In step 3 press “New to DoorDash?”, give your email, and finish DoorDash’s sign-up in the tab that opens. DoorDash tells us the moment your store exists and the step moves on by itself.
03What DoorDash’s answers mean
| The wizard says | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| DoorDash is pulling your menu… | DoorDash is reading the menu from Order Central. | Wait a minute or two. The page updates itself. |
| DoorDash has your menu. Check it, then activate. | The menu passed DoorDash’s checks. | Open the preview link if you like, then press Activate on DoorDash. |
| DoorDash could not use the menu. | The menu has no hours, no items, or a category or item without a name. | Fix it in Admin → Menu (or Restaurant & Hours), then press “Send the menu again”. |
| Connected. | The store runs on Order Central. | Nothing. Go to step 4. |
| DoorDash stopped this connection. | The store is already connected elsewhere, is a Drive or retail store, or shares a kitchen with another brand. | Read the line under it; it names the reason. “Start over” lets you pick another store. DoorDash support can untangle a wrong earlier connection. |
| The integration is on, but DoorDash could not open the store itself. | Banking details or a document are missing on DoorDash’s side. | Finish them in the DoorDash Merchant Portal; the store opens there. |
| That DoorDash account cannot connect stores. | You signed in with a login that is not an admin of the business. | Press “Sign in with another account” and use the owner’s DoorDash login. |
04After you are connected
- Pause for today / Take orders again — Admin → Integrations → DoorDash → Details. DoorDash shows the store closed while paused.
- Turn off — stops the menu and the orders here; nothing is deleted. Start over — begin the connection again, for example after a change of ownership.
- Your old DoorDash menu is replaced by the Order Central one when you activate. Item photos, prices and hours now come from Order Central only.
Stuck? Write to us from the Admin (Help) with your location name. If DoorDash itself has to act, we raise it with DoorDash support for you.
